USB flash drives are used to move files and documents from computer to computer. Because of their mobility, USB flash drives can be used on a lot of different systems and can potentially end up with corrupted files. When a USB flash drive has corrupted files, it could start to act up when you put into your computer. Reformatting the USB pen drive is the only way to get the corrupted data off the drive and restore it to working order.
Instructions
Windows 7

Click the "Start" menu and navigate over to the "Computer" button.2
Click on it and find your pen drive's icon in the window.3
Right click on the drive and select the "Format" option from the window.4
Click the "Start" button.5
Wait for the flash drive to be reformatted.Mac OSX

Click the "Finder" button on the bottom of your screen.2
Click the "Applications" button on the left hand side of the window.3
Scroll down to the "Disk Utility" and click on it.4
Select your flash drive from the icons listed.5
Click the "Erase" button and wait for the flash drive to be reformatted.Tips & Warnings
- Reformatting your flash drive will erase everything on the drive.
